Tea is the second most consumed beverage in the world after water. All tea comes from the Camellia sinensis plant, but different ways of harvesting and processing the plant produce different types of tea.

Classic Saffron Assam tea consists of a blend of High Grown Assam CTC Tea made from the tender most tea leaves and buds only & handpicked saffron threads. Black tea, is a type of tea that is more oxidized than oolong, yellow, white and green teas.

CTC Black tea is generally stronger in flavour than other teas and known for its body, briskness, malty flavour, and strong, bright colour.

CTC tea actually refers to a method of processing black tea. The process called crush, tear, curl is used in which black tea leaves are run through a cylindrical roller. These rollers have sharp teeth that cut, tear and curl the leaves and produces small, hard pellets made of tea. Black Tea is rich in antioxidants that helps combat free radicals.

Free radicals are unstable molecules in the body that result from both natural processes and environmental pressures. Protecting against a build-up of plaque in the walls of arteries that can lead to coronary heart disease, stroke, and chronic kidney disease.

Consuming black tea also appeared to cancel out the impact of a high fat meal on blood pressure. Some research has suggested that consuming tea might help reduce the risk of diabetes.
